By the time he was 8 weeks of age, Leo had already been bought and sold twice to two different owners who wanted him as a household “pet” – and one of the owners had small children.  Thankfully the second owners decided that a cougar was not an appropriate animal to have in the house and made arrangements to turn him over to us. An improper diet and the stress of bouncing between homes had taken it's toll, leaving Leo very underweight, with swollen joints and fur breaking off in clumps. He was all “eyes and ears” and we fell completely in love!

Over the next year, we watched this scruffy, precocious little cub grow into the magnificent Cougar he is today.  Quite the charmer, Leo routinely chirps and purrs at the volunteers when he’s not playing with his Cougar buddy Cody, another WildCat Haven rescue.
