Bear, an older bobcat came to us after his owners decided they no longer wanted him. He had been de-fanged and de-clawed to make him more, "handleable." Too often breeders tell naive new owners that this type of surgery will make a wildcat a 'pet,' and it just isn't true.

(Beautiful Bear)

(Bear loves cardboard boxes:)

Bear is a wonderful boy who likes people but isn't crazy about other bobcats. He loves servals and we found that he enjoys living next to them the most. Bear is very vocal and has a wide range of coos and purrs and a very ferocious growl when he thinks someone is getting too close to his dinner :)

As Bear gets older we've notice that he doesn't see as well as he used to and he's slowed down ever so slightly, but he's still a feisty boy who's ready to give you a head butt or a nip, depending on his mood & we wouldn't want him any other way! He's charismatic, charming and a very special boy who has stolen all of our hearts!
