Cleo was purchased by a couple at an Exotic Pet Show in Oregon. She was only four weeks old and the breeder told them even though she was a bobcat she would sell her to them as a 'hybrid' because it's illegal to sell a bobcat in Oregon to someone who lives in Oregon. Unfortunately this is a common practice used by some breeders to get around the laws.

(Beautiful girl)

In their attempt to make Cleo a 'pet' her owners had her tendons severed so she couldn't use her claws, fed her domestic cat food and kept her in the garage when she was no longer a kitten. When a nasty divorce threatened Cleo's safety, a concerned friend stepped in to rescue her and brought her to WCH.

Cleo was very thin, her coat was falling out and she just looked pitiful. A trip to the vet found she was flea anemic, had parasites and other health problems. Once we began treatment and got her on a proper diet she started to thrive and became one of the most beautiful bobcats we have ever seen!

Cleo lives with Bobby, our three-legged bobcat and a female bobcat named Bailey Rae. All three are the best of friends and for Bobby to have two girls that adore him is very special indeed :)
