Simba is an older bobcat who came to us from Montana. Raised as a pet and kept in a house for over 10 years, there weren't many options for him when his owner decided she couldn't take him with her when she moved to an apartment.

Arrangements were made for him to come to WCH and then fly to a facility in Arizona. When we talked more with the director in Arizona, she asked if we might have room to keep him since the climate in Oregon was much more suitable for this Montana bobcat and we agreed.

(A lazy afternoon)

Simba arrived wearing a pink rhinestone collar. When I called the owner to tell her he had arrived safely she asked if we would return Simba to her when he died so she could have him stuffed and put in her house on display.

I must say I was stunned at her request, and I hope it's the last time I'm ever asked that question. Of course I was very clear on my thoughts about that and Simba will never be returned. Animals are not simply 'things,' they have hearts and souls and we will do all we can to provide this beautiful bobcat with a happy lifetime home.
