Sher Khan is an F2 Bengal. He came to us from Scottsdale, Arizona from an owner who realized he was not a good house pet. She loved him but found he had too many issues to deal with. She contacted us to see if we could provide a lifetime home, and this is one of the things she wrote: “I guess I am seeking a solution that doesn’t involve putting him to sleep. If I could keep him and NOT have my carpets and walls ruined by spray, my other pets intimidated or stalked or attacked, and not have my neighbors distressed by his being outside yowling, I would consider it. Otherwise, I want him to have a life that suits what he is.”
These are just some of the things we hear when owners find these hybrid wildcats do NOT make good pets. Thankfully, we had room, and now Sher Khan lives with other domestics and hybrids in Hybrid Haven, an indoor/outdoor area created just for these cats.
