Morocco is one of two servals that WildCat Haven rescued from Reno, Nevada. Living in small, filthy pens littered with garbage and trash, we were thrilled to be able to take them out of that situation. Tanzania, the female serval, was in relatively good shape, but we found that Rocco had been sold with a broken leg, having never even been taken to the vet!
After returning to the sanctuary, we scheduled surgery with an orthopedic surgeon to see what he could do. Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and after months of rehabilitation, Morocco was a new cat. Unfortunately in 2013, he pulled his Achilles’s tendon and our only option was to amputate his leg. He can still run and play pain free despite losing his leg. We are thrilled to be able to save both of these precious wildcats and give them a safe, peaceful life.
